Paint Protection Film or Ceramic Coatings, which is better?

Having trouble deciding if you just need a ceramic coating or want to go all out for paint protection film?
We can shed some light on that topic and help you decide.

Paint Protection film is a thick, optically clear film designed to reduce or prevent rock chips or other debris that may want to beat up your paint. It also protects you cars clear coat from taking any damage from the harsh sun or abrasions.

Ceramic Coatings on the other hand are basically a hard wax on steriods. They DO NOT protect your car from rock chips or other debris. They are scratch resistant to a degree, but not the same way ppf is. Over time, the ceramic will wear off.

Xpel paint protection film, which is what we use at our shop in Bossier City, Louisiana, carries a 10 year warranty against any yellowing, fading, or cracking due to sun exposure or if the film’s adhesive fails prematurely. Our Ceramic Coatings carry a warranty as well, however it’s nowhere near as long as the ppf warranty.

If you’re looking to truly protect you car from the Shreveport/Bossier roads, opt for the Xpel PPF. If you’re just looking to make your car way easier to wash for a couple years, go for the Ceramic Coating. Or if you really want the best of both worlds, combine the two and get two layers of protection!
